Raw materials
Raw materials account for 60% of the carbon footprint on average. Therefore, they are an essential lever for reducing the impact of even a small company like ours.
To help preserve biodiversity, we carefully select our materials, always choosing the best possible option, such as organic or recycled fibers, or certified materials that guarantee animal welfare and sustainable pasture management, based on labels with the highest standards.
Second life
And when the best option is not possible, for example due to lack of supply, we choose the best alternative. For example, SECOND LIFE fabrics, which means recovering materials considered production surpluses and scraps from textile companies to reintroduce them to the market. In a period when the fashion system is facing the difficult management of ever-increasing quantities of leftover fabric at the end of the season, we focus on collecting, sorting, and checking fabrics to create new garments.
DENIM (Berto Textile Industry)
Denim is often blended with synthetic fibers and treated with dyes and finishes that reduce its biodegradability and increase its environmental impact, also due to the high consumption of water and chemicals.
Our denim is 100% cotton, largely BCI (Better Cotton Initiative) cotton, which promotes more responsible cultivation: more efficient water use, protection of soil and habitats, reduction of harmful practices, and decent working conditions.
More details on the website of Berto Industria Tessile, our partner for over 5 years, after joining the BERTO4YOUNGTALENTS project.
Our denim is 100% cotton, most of which is BCI (Better Cotton Initiative) cotton. BCI trains its cotton farmers to use water more efficiently, to care for soil health and natural habitats, to minimize the use of harmful crop protection practices, and to implement decent working practices.

cotton
Cotton is a natural fiber, but it is often a water-intensive crop and, in recent decades, has been made more "chemically intensive" by the use of GMOs, pesticides, and synthetic fertilizers.
For this reason, we use GOTS certified organic cotton: without GMOs or synthetic agricultural chemicals, using approximately 88% less water and 62% less energy compared to conventional cotton. In addition, organic farming improves soil and biodiversity, reduces pollution and emissions. In its pure form, cotton remains a biodegradable fiber.
Linen
Linen is a natural fiber cultivated from the flax plant, a resistant and fast-growing crop that requires half the amount of water and pesticides needed to produce cotton or polyester. The transformation of linen into yarn is largely mechanical, requiring no chemicals. As a fabric, linen is naturally moth-resistant and absorbs moisture without retaining bacteria, qualities that extend the life cycle of linen garments and keep the product in use.
Our linen is produced in Italy and dyed with low environmental impact dyes supplied by leading Italian industry players, and is therefore 100% Made in Italy.

SECOND LIFE FABRICS - ReLiveTex
Maeba International has the circular economy in its DNA. For 15 years, it has been recovering textile surpluses and remnants, sorting them and putting them back into circulation to create new garments: fewer waste and fewer resources consumed compared to virgin fabrics.
With the ReLiveTex logo, applied to a selected range, Maeba certifies that these fabrics have been diverted from landfill or incineration and reintroduced into new uses, with transparency and traceability. Choosing ReLiveTex means giving the collection a concrete sustainability content.
